NA Performance Clutch/Flywheel Kit for 1.5T Civic
Often the first part to fail on a 2016+ Civic 1.5T is the factory clutch. Honda designed the L15B engines with 200ft-lbs of torque in mind, while many cars after tuning make in excess of 250ft-lbs. This, combined with the "rev hang" inducing 30lbs dual mass flywheel, makes for a bit of a headache when power is turned up.
Many aftermarket clutches for the L15B platform use incorrect clutch geometry and metallic/ceramic friction surfaces, causing problems like chatter on disengagement, gear selection lockout, stiff pedal pressure, and failure of the factory dual mass flywheel completely.
Unhappy with the aftermarket offerings on the market, NA Performance set out to retrofit the strong, light clutch and single mass flywheel combination from the 2017+ FK8 Civic Type R to the 1.5T. In our testing of the Civic Type R, we have seen torque as high as 400+ft-lbs on our DynaPack (a machine notorious for finding the limits of a clutch) with zero slip. This setup allows for smooth shifting, smooth clutch engagement, and medium pedal pressure.
