Frequently Asked Questions

What are your dyno deposit, rescheduling, and late-arrival policies?

A $400 non-refundable deposit reserves your dyno appointment and is credited toward your service when you attend on time. The deposit is valid for six months from payment.

Plans change—we allow one transfer to another date when arranged at least 24 hours before your original appointment.

Please arrive on time so we can give your vehicle the attention it needs. At 16–30 minutes late, your session may proceed, but the deposit is forfeited as a late fee and is not credited toward the service. More than 30 minutes late, or a missed appointment, forfeits the deposit as a missed-appointment fee and requires rescheduling. This is one forfeiture, not an additional second fee. These deposit terms have no exceptions.

How does e-calibration work?
E-calibration is a remote tuning service based on datalogs recorded from your vehicle. You’ll need compatible tuning hardware and software, the ability to know how to flash calibration files and record datalogs, and a willingness to follow instructions.
After your purchase, you’ll return a completed Terms of Service Agreement and provide your vehicle, modification, and fuel information. Once your session is ready, we’ll use IMW Link to exchange calibration files, datalogs, and tuning comments.
You’ll download a revision, read its instructions, flash it to the vehicle, and record the requested logs under safe, appropriate conditions. We’ll review those logs and provide further revisions as needed until the calibration is complete.
Will my e-calibration include horsepower or torque figures?
No. E-calibration uses datalogs to evaluate and refine your vehicle’s calibration. Those logs do not directly measure horsepower or torque, and the service does not include a dyno test or power sheet.
If you want measured power figures, you’ll need separate chassis-dyno testing. We don’t provide speculative numbers or use “Virtual Dyno” estimates as a substitute for a measured result.
What is "IMW Link"?
"IMW Link" is our dedicated customer tuning portal. It keeps your calibration files, revision instructions, datalogs, and tuning comments organized within your individual tune session.
You can download revisions, upload datalogs, leave questions and feedback, view your session’s status and progress, and request a Priority upgrade for an eligible Standard session.
Revision notification emails come from the system automatically (which you may choose to disable if preferred).
What do I need to provide before tuning begins? (E-Calibration)
You’ll receive an onboarding email requesting your completed Terms of Service Agreement and details about your vehicle.
Please provide the vehicle’s year, make, model, transmission, tuning-device information, modifications, fuel, and primary use. Be specific about engine, fuel-system, and drivetrain changes, including relevant brands and part specifications.
The agreement must be completed correctly in your secure order page, include a handwritten signature, and be submitted within five business days of your onboarding invitation. Missing information or unreadable documents will delay the start of service.
How long does an e-calibration take?
There is no fixed completion time. The overall timeline depends on your vehicle’s condition, the complexity of the setup, the number of fuels being calibrated, how promptly you submit usable logs, and whether troubleshooting is needed.
After the requested logs are submitted, reviews and revisions are usually provided within 7–10 business days for Standard service or 1–3 business days for Priority service.
These are typical turnaround estimates for each round of review, not the total time to complete a tune or guaranteed deadlines. Tuning work is reviewed during our normal business hours on weekdays.
How many revisions will my tune need?
Every vehicle is different, so we can’t promise a specific revision count.
As a general planning estimate, some setups may require 10–20 revisions, while others may need fewer or more. The vehicle’s preparation, calibration strategy, modifications, and number of fuels all affect the amount of work involved.
The goal is to complete the necessary calibration work—not reach a predetermined number of revisions.
What does Priority service include?
Priority service provides faster handling of an individual tune session.
Logs are usually reviewed and revisions provided within 1–3 business days, compared with 7–10 business days for Standard service. Priority sessions appear ahead of Standard sessions within the same stage of the tuning queue and receive higher placement in the unread-comments queue.
This generally allows a session to progress more quickly, provided complete logs are submitted promptly and the vehicle doesn’t require additional troubleshooting.
Priority applies only to the tune session purchased or upgraded. It does not apply to your entire account, other active sessions, or future purchases. It does not guarantee immediate replies or a fixed completion date.
Can I upgrade an existing session to Priority?
Yes. Eligible Standard sessions display a Request Priority upgrade button in IMW Link.
The upgrade costs $200 USD. Open the upgrade page, follow the payment instructions, and include the supplied identifying information with your PayPal payment. After sending payment, submit the upgrade request in the portal.
Payment and request submission do not automatically activate Priority. We must verify the payment and manually update your session. Until then, your session remains Standard.
If your request shows payment verification pending, please don’t send a second payment.
How should I upload my datalogs?
Upload logs to the corresponding revision in IMW Link using your tuning software’s native datalog format. Do not submit CSV exports unless specifically requested.
Please submit the complete requested log set together, ideally from the same drive cycle unless your instructions say otherwise. Incomplete submissions, incorrect formats, or logs that don’t follow the revision instructions can delay review.
Keep the page open until every file reports a successful upload, then confirm that the files appear in your uploaded datalogs list. If a file reports an error, retry it before leaving the page.
Should I use portal comments or email?
Use your tune-session comments for routine tuning questions, feedback, and information related to the current revision. You can leave comments without uploading datalogs.
For lengthy explanations, sensitive information, or concerns that need additional context, reply to your existing email thread so the correspondence stays together.
Neither comments nor email is an immediate-response service. Please allow time for review during business hours.
How long will a completed tune remain available in IMW Link?
Completed sessions remain visible in your customer portal for 30 days after completion.
Please download and keep your own copies of the final calibration, relevant instructions, and any datalogs you want to retain before that period ends.
Do I need a retune if I change parts?
Possibly. Some changes affect calibration requirements, while others may not.
Contact us before installing new parts or operating the vehicle with a changed setup. Include the exact parts being added or removed so we can determine whether your existing calibration remains appropriate and whether additional tuning is needed.
Don’t assume a calibration remains suitable simply because the vehicle starts and drives.
Are retunes after modifications included for free?
Additional tuning for a changed vehicle configuration is a separate service unless your purchase explicitly includes it.
A hardware or fuel change may require new calibration work, datalog review, and validation. Contact us with the proposed changes, and we’ll explain the scope and applicable pricing before you proceed.
What spark plugs should I use?
The correct plugs depend on your engine, modifications, fuel, and intended use. There isn’t one recommendation that applies to every vehicle.
Ask before your dyno appointment or at the start of your e-calibration, and provide your current plug information along with your vehicle details.
Can you tune my car remotely while it’s on a dyno?
Yes—we offer Live Remote Tuning Sessions.
Contact us regarding the details of this service, as there are a number of requirements that must be met beforehand.
You’ll need compatible tuning equipment, a laptop connected to the vehicle, and a reliable internet connection. Access to the dyno’s results during the session is also helpful.
We prefer working with DynaPack facilities, but other dyno types may be suitable. We perform this service ONLY with our approved partner facilities.
Why does my car make different power than another car with similar modifications?
Similar parts don’t guarantee identical results. Engine condition, fuel quality, operating temperatures, test conditions, and differences in the vehicles themselves can all affect output.
Dyno equipment and testing procedures also vary. A small difference between results—especially from different facilities—doesn’t by itself establish that one calibration is better than another.
Dyno results are most useful when evaluated in context, with attention to consistent testing conditions and how the vehicle performs throughout the operating range.
Where can I find current pricing and service options?
Visit E-Calibration, In-House Dyno, or ECU Services for current pricing and options.
Our pricing reflects the time involved in reviewing data, developing revisions, and supporting the calibration process. If you are unsure which option fits after reviewing these pages, contact us with your setup and goals.
Do you install parts or perform mechanical work?
We currently focus on tuning services and solutions and are not accepting installation work, including turbo kits, engine builds, clutch installations, etc.
Please arrange any required mechanical work before tuning and ensure the vehicle is ready for calibration.
How far ahead should I book a dyno tuning appointment?
Scheduling varies throughout the year. Our typical lead time is 2–8 weeks, but availability can change. View available dates and request a dyno appointment. Requests require shop approval before a deposit is requested. For technical questions, use the contact form.
How long is my dyno tuning deposit valid?
Dyno tuning deposits are valid for six months from the date of payment.
Please coordinate your appointment within that period and review the applicable scheduling policy before booking.
